Want to make your child's party one to remember? Here are some fun Strawberry Shortcake themed ideas to get it going!

ideaStrawberry Welcome

Get some huge blank sheets of paper (brown wrapping paper, butcher block paper, etc.) and write on the top of it "Fill-in-your-kids-name" Strawberry Shortcake Birthday Party!" (note - you replace the 'fill in your kids name" with your child's name, of course. :-) ).

Place this paper in a strategic location and put 4-5 pink/red markers on top. Encourage all attendees to sign it with their own personal cartoon signature. It will make a great keepsake for your kid.

ideaPin the Stem on the Strawberry

On another large blank piece of paper, draw a strawberry minus the stem (we're talking a huuuuuge strawberry here, mind you). Then cut out stems from green construction paper and put some tape on the back of each. Blindfold each child in turn and let them try to, well, pin that stem on that strawberry! :-)

ideaStraw Straw Berry!

Based upon that all-time favorite "Duck duck goose", this one is played exactly the same way (sit all the children in a circle - one child walks around saying Straw Straw Straw as she or he pats each kids head, and they shrieks out loud BERRY! Said berryized kid will then chase the patter in a circle). Make certain rules are understood (ie, tap or pat the head, don't try to wallop the kid into the ground).

ideaStrawberry Says

Just like Simon Says, Strawberry Says has the birthday child (or mommy, as she's probably faster) stands in front of the children and then says, Strawberry says, tell me what's the airspeed velocity of a swallow carrying a coconut? or some other command. If she doesn't say, "Strawberry says", whoever does the action is out!

ideaStrawberry Shortcake Stations (for adventurous parents)

Now, this is for die-hard-my-child-will-be-flabbergasted parents. It's not for the faint of heart! You'll need more than one adult to supervise.

Step 1). Take several Strawberry Shortcake characters - say, Strawberry Shortcake, Angel Cake, Ginger Snap, Huckleberry Pie and Orange Blossom.

Step 2). Buy a larger house or find a big-sized room

Step 3). Create the following stations:

    • Strawberry Shortcake's Strawberry Patch. Use astroturf or easter grass for the ground and sprinkle it with pink cotton balls. Make plain pink party hats by cutting out pink circles on pink construction paper (but don't fasten them into a cone yet!). Let each child decorate the pink party hats with glitter, crayons, washable paint, etc. When said child is done, tape the hat into a cone shape and tape on string to tie it under the chin (make sure the child writes his/her name!). Put it in a safe place to dry and give to child upon the completion of the party.
    • Orange Blossom's Juice Place. Sprinkle this station with orange cotton balls. Get some plain pink or orange plastic drinking cups from your local dollar store. Let the children place Strawberry Shortcake stickers on their cup (and write their names!).
    • Ginger Snap's Cookie Corner. This station can have brown cotton balls for chocolate chips on the ground. Offer plain sugar cookies and let each child decorate them with pink/red frosting. They don't have to write their names here. :-) They can use their cups from Orange Blossom's Place to hold the cookies.
    • Angel Cake's Land of Creative....Cakes. Go hog-wild with multicolored cotton balls! Here you can either extend the yummy food decorating concept...or let them decorate white napkins with their favorite characters.
    • Huckleberry Pie's Action Station. No cotton balls here! Set up a small relay/exercise run (time the children in doing 10 jumping jacks, for example) and then present a red/white/blue ribbon necklace to everyone who participates

Step 4). Collapse in exhaustion. But it's a happy collapse, as you now know your child's party will last in memories a long, long time!

I certainly hope the above helps you make your Strawberry Shortcake party the ultimate memory for your child. Speaking of that, do you need a great idea for board games? I've come up with several below you might like. Enjoy! -- Mommy
